Ramirez Family to participate in the Born to Run Ultras 2022

Maria Lorena Ramirez Born to Run 2022 Raramuri Corredora

The Ramirez family is a treasure of the Sierra Tarahumara. A living representation of all that is special about the Raramuri people and their running culture. Every member of the family possesses extraordinary endurance running talent, but with humility it is not personal accolades they seek, their focus is to honor the role running has in the Raramuri community and share those traditions with everyone. They desire to pass along the meanings, expressions and importance running has for the Raramuri and its connection with the Earth and one another.

The big news: The All We Do Is Run - Born to Run ‘family’ has an opportunity to greater understand these expressions, hear some stories, gain some wisdoms, and RUN WITH THE RAMIREZ FAMILY: you can join Papa Santiago, Lorena, Juana, and Antonio at the 2022 Born to Run Ultramarathons!  How cool is that!?

True Messages, the nonprofit created to share the powerful messages of a simple Messenger in support of the Raramuri people of the Sierra Tarahumara along with All We Do Is Run and members of the Born to Run Family are hoping to bring Papa Santiago, daughters Lorena and Juana, and son Mario to BTR2022.  Here is our situation - we need everyone’s help and support to make this special cultural exchange happen.

We are asking all of our friends to help us financially support this opportunity.  Bringing folks from all over to run with and experience the beauty of the Raramuri peoples and culture was the motivation for the Ultra Caballo Blanco and all Micah created. The opportunity to share with one another… to express Korima. We realize not everyone can wander down to the Copper Canyons easily, so it’s super important to take advantage when we have these chances to together as one here closer to home. It’s really what the whole Born to Run event is in essence for many of us – coming together, running, sharing, and appreciating the blessings (and crazy awesomeness) this family offers. It is also important for our Raramuri friends to share the BTR experience with us. To see, meet, and gain from the time with some of the best of our people on this side of the border.

Please help us make this happen. Share whatever you can. The Ramirez family, like most all our Raramuri friends that have an opportunity to travel, use that support not just for themselves, but also to bring back to their community.  Korima, is more than just sharing, it’s how they help restore the balance when some have more than they need and others have need.  Yep… there is more than just running wisdoms our friends have to offer.

You can support directly via our PayPal via this button and there are no fees associated for us or you. You can also use a credit card if you prefer not to use PayPal by going to our “Korima” page and clicking ‘Monetary Donation’, here we pass a small processing fee.  True Messages is a 501c3 nonprofit so all your donations are tax deductible. Humbly, we are still a small volunteer only entity so 100% of your support is passed to this project.

You are appreciated and as our friends in the Sierra say “Kuira Ba Norwas”
